Boy Scout honors

Three Boy Scouts of Holy Spirit Parish in New Hyde Park were among 200 Scouts to receive their Religious awards from Bishop Paul Walsh at the 55th Boy Scout Convocation at St. Agnes Cathedral on Sunday, September 16. Pictured, from left, are religious coordinator Tony Lennon, Scout Nicholas Sieban, Bishop Walsh, and Scouts Eamonn Lennon and Neil Duggan. The three received the Pope Pius XII Award, a program that helps the Scout deal with different life choices (single, married, religious ordained), occupations and ministries in the Church and society. This program took six months of discussion, projects and retreat. It helped the boys with spiritual growth to self and others.
